Radiation Protection Officer

Industrial Security Planning & Support Department would like to hire a SMP who possess the following qualification:

• Hold Radiation Protection Officer certification from the regulatory authority, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
• 5 years of experience in conducting Radiation Inspection on nuclear gages.
• Familiar with handling radioactive Explosives Detectors (Safe operation, radioactive parts, contamination wipe sampling…etc)
• Excellent command of spoken and written English skills to communicate with higher management and concerned entities within and outside S. Aramco.
• Ability to deliver radiation safety awareness presentations to concerned staff and higher management.

The required scope of work is:

• Perform the annual radiation leak inspection of 95 X-ray Screening Systems distributed kingdom wide as per the guidelines of EPD/Radiation Protection Unit and create reports illustrating location setup and survey results. Also, Ensure that all required radiation surveys are performed adequately and maintain records of survey results
• Enforce Saudi Aramco radiation safety regulations and ensure their implementation within the department /division. (GI 150.003 & GI 150.006)
• Handle documentation and procedures related to the import and export of radioactive sources and keep inventory records of radioactive sources within his department / division
• Ensure that transportation, storage, replacement, and disposal of radioactive sources within his department are done according to Saudi Aramco radiation safety procedures
• Participate and handle emergency situations that involve sources of radiation or accidental exposures in his department.
• Audit and supervise radiation-related activities ensure contractors adherence to Saudi Aramco's radiation safety procedures
• Ensure that radiation monitoring and survey equipment are calibrated periodically as required by regulations and ensure that only adequately functioning equipment are used.
